LOOKING FOR ROOFING APPRENTICESHIPS/and/or the SPECIALIST APPLIED-SKILLS PROGRAMME (SAP)?

Message the contact in your Region (please see the Team page) as roofing apprenticeships & SAP’s take place across the UK (most SAP’s are just in Wales at the moment with the exception of Lead & Hard Metals and Heritage Skills).

Roof Slating & Tiling, Waterproof Membrane Installer, & Roof Sheeting/Cladding apprenticeships are all available. Level 2 Roof Slating & Tiling SAP’s (an 18 month programme) are to start in Caerphilly in Jan 2023 & at Coleg Cambria (N Wales) in Feb 2023 (contact Lesley on the Team page)  The CITB initiative “Travel to Train” can help as where travel expenses for training are more than £30 per week, CITB will fund the excess and also, offer accommodation free of charge.

Usually, training takes place in College or with a Training Provider at their location, although there is a new method of delivery, where training takes place on-site.

Tuition is free for those aged 16-18 and costs around £550 for those aged 19 & over. Employers recruiting an apprentice aged 16-18 qualify for £1000 payment. Companies registered with CITB can also claim up to £8500 grant over the 2-year training period.
